Pricing, promotions and campaigns

Price lists per customer, buy-X-get-Y offers, and price changes scheduled in advance.

Every price and offer here is set once and then applies itself — at the register, on the online store, and in every report. That is the point: a cashier never has to remember that juice is two-for-one this week, and a campaign that ends on Thursday ends on Thursday without anyone editing forty items on Friday morning.

Pricing, promotions and campaigns
  1. Catalog → Price Lists holds the default list every item's price lives on. Create a second list only for a customer who genuinely pays different prices, then assign it from their profile.

  2. Catalog → Promotions → New builds a buy-X-get-Y offer. Choose what must be bought — a specific item or a whole category — what comes free, and the dates. Outside those dates it simply does not fire.

  3. Catalog → Campaigns schedules a price change across many items — by percentage or a fixed amount — between a start and end date. Prices change on the start date and revert on the end date on their own.

  4. Whatever is active, a manual discount at the register is still capped by the cashier's role. Promotions and discounts do not add up to more than you intended.

Good practice

  • Set a campaign's end date when you create it. An open-ended campaign is the one someone forgets about.
  • Check the Profitability report a week into any promotion — margin by item shows quickly whether the offer is paying for itself.
